FLYONE sends a "Notice of Default" to SkyUP MT Limited

FLYONE Airlines announces the reason for the cancellation of all charter flights contracted by SkyUP MT Limited to the following destinations: Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Sri Lanka, scheduled until March 29, 2025 inclusive. This measure was taken in connection with numerous cases of non-fulfillment of financial obligations by the SkyUP group of companies, which systematically failed to make payments, violated contractual terms and conditions and created an extremely large debt with an overdue maturity.

1. Failure to fulfill financial obligations:

Despite numerous notifications and requests in recent times, SkyUP has not fulfilled its financial obligations to FLYONE. SkyUP was given a notice to resolve the situation by March 21, 2025, which was later extended to March 25, 2025. However, SkyUP did not resolve the issue within the specified deadline and did not propose a plan to repay the debt. FLYONE is currently studying the legal framework to assess the validity of invalid payment documents received from SkyUP, which claimed to be payments for the repayment of a significant debt. This assessment will help determine whether an application will be filed with the relevant authorities.

In addition, due to SkyUP's failure to meet its financial obligations to other service providers, including the suspension of ground handling services in Egypt, for which SkyUP had a direct contract, flights cannot be operated. The handling operator has sent SkyUP a notice of suspension of services due to significant debts owed to it.

2. Impact on affected areas:

Unfortunately, we cannot deny the significant impact of this decision. However, SkyUP and JoinUP should have taken preventive measures to avoid these consequences. Due to the disruption and uncertainty caused by the unfair actions of SkyUP and JoinUP, FLYONE was forced to cancel flights to the above destinations after exhausting all communication channels and attempts to reach an amicable settlement regarding the repayment of the debt by the SkyUP group.

3. Further cooperation with unreliable partners:

FLYONE would like to emphasize that due to the continued non-compliance with payment terms by SkyUP and JoinUP, we are suspending cooperation with these partners until the debt situation is fully clarified. For our company, the safety, comfort and satisfaction of passengers is a priority. Further cooperation agreements will be concluded only with partners who adhere to high standards of professionalism and adhere to honest and transparent business rules.

We categorically deny any accusations against SkyUp, and we continue to move towards launching regular flights from Chisinau in April. We consider the statement regarding non-fulfillment of financial obligations on our part to be a groundless accusation. We have been cooperating with FlyOne for several years, and the current contract was valid until March 29, 2025. Over the past year, we have repeatedly initiated meetings to reconcile the balance, to which we have not received a response from the partner. SkyUp™ is a reliable and honest partner that fulfills its obligations. We are very sorry that the unjustified actions of our partner have negatively affected the plans of passengers.
From April 2025, we plan to enter the Moldovan market with a regular flight program, so FlyOne's actions two days before the end of the contract can be interpreted as an attempt to discredit a future competitor. We consider this an attempt to create unfair competition and harm the reputation of SkyUp™. We will not allow our professionalism to be questioned, therefore we are resolutely determined to protect our reputation in the legal field.
All flights scheduled under the specified contract until March 29, 2025 inclusive will be operated. However, due to circumstances, changes in the flight schedule are possible. Our customers receive the necessary support, including the provision of accommodation and meals. We are making every effort to re-ensure the operation of flights and minimize inconvenience to passengers.
